Communication Specialist
Develop and create print and digital materials with messaging aligned to the strategic priorities of a school district of 40,000 students. Manage social media accounts. Periodically support site leadership during crises and facilitate media coverage. Work with staff across departments and school sites to improve communication with students, families and the community. Notable successes include:

  • Led internal and external communication campaign surrounding the award-winning redesign and relaunch of our district and school websites, resulting in expanded use (including a 50% increase in mobile pageviews) and improved user experience.
  • Spearheaded annual Spirit of San Juan awards program for positive character, including promotion, judging, event planning and video production. Size of nominee pool and event attendance has increased nearly tenfold in two years under my guidance.
  • Planned and produced videos explaining concepts such as the district’s Local Control and Accountability Plan and new System of Professional Growth in a compelling and clear manner to deepen community and staff engagement with these initiatives.
